MYA: Mentoring Young Artists

Our heart is to train and develop young artists aged 13- 17
The exciting new MYA course is designed to develop you through arts training days at ngm’s state of the art performance complex, and dynamic online mentoring!

Arts Training Days
As part of the MYA course, you will come for 4 arts training days at our Caedmon Complex, and you can specialise in one of the following artforms:
Dance
Vocals
Drums
Bass
Guitar
Below is an overview of what these days will involve:
Dance
Your days at ngm will include sessions on technique, performance skills, different dance styles as well as teaching you routines.
Vocals
Your days at ngm will include sessions on vocal technique, learning new songs, and looking at creativity and inspiration for performers.
Musicians
Your days at ngm will include time with a tutor looking at key areas of musical development such as style, technique, and performance skills for your instrument. You will also spend time with a band to work on a song together.
The arts training days are to inspire, challenge and develop you in your artform; exploring different styles, ideas and techniques and how to get the most out of your performance and ability as an artist.

Mentoring

It is so important to have positive influences and support during the teenage years. Through our mentoring programme, we hope to provide some of this vital encouragement and support.
Online Mentoring
A new, exciting and vital part of the MYA course will be the establishment and growth of a dynamic and interactive online MYA Facebook community. It will be shaped by regular input from our pastoral team and also provide the opportunity for MYA students to encourage, discuss, support, pray and mentor one another; a great way to build friendships with other artists.
The possibilities of what God can do through this generation and the social media world is so exciting, and we want to be a part of it.

MYA will run from 29th October with the start of our online community, to 27th July 2013 and costs £305 (+ VAT @20% Gross £366)
Plus, every MYA student will get a 10% reduction on the price of our Boot Camp Summer School - a week long residential summer course for 13-19 year olds held at our state of the art Caedmon Complex (28th July- 3rd August 2013). Summer school usually costs £274, but for MYA students, it will only cost £246.60!
